The admission procedures for new students for the 2024-2025 academic session.
General Conditions for Admission:
A student seeking admission to any class in a ‘School’ will be eligible for admission to that class only if they:
Have been studying in a school recognized by or affiliated to the CBSE Board or any other recognized Board of Secondary Education in India.
Have passed the qualifying or equivalent qualifying examination making them eligible for admission to that class.
Satisfy the age limits (minimum and maximum) determined by the State/U.T. Government applicable to the place where the school is located.
Produce the following documents:
The School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate signed by the Head of the Institution last attended.
Document(s) supporting their qualification for the respective class.
Date of Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Birth and Deaths as proof of date of birth.
Migration from a Foreign Country:
No student migrating from a school in a foreign country, other than a school affiliated to the CBSE Board, shall be eligible for admission unless an eligibility certificate has been obtained from the CBSE Board.
The eligibility certificate will be issued after verifying that the course of study undergone and examination passed is equivalent to the corresponding class of the CBSE Board.
Rustication or Expulsion:
No person under the sentence of rustication, expulsion from any Board/University/School, or debarred from appearing in an examination for any reason by any Board/University shall be admitted to any class in a school affiliated to the CBSE Board.
Specific Class Requirements:
Class 9: Students must meet the general conditions mentioned above.
Class 6: Students must satisfy the age criteria and other eligibility requirements.
Nursery to Class 1: Admission involves filling out application forms, submitting documents (such as birth certificates, residence proof, and parents’ identity proof), and sometimes an in-person interaction or interview
- Students must adhere to the school dress code.
- Punctuality is mandatory; latecomers will be subject to disciplinary action.
- Respect towards teachers, staff, and fellow students is non-negotiable.
- Use of foul language, bullying, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated.
- Academic honesty is paramount; any form of cheating or plagiarism will result in consequences.
- Cell phones and other electronic devices are prohibited during school hours unless otherwise instructed by teachers.
- Participation in extracurricular activities is encouraged, but academic responsibilities must be prioritized.
Teachers must maintain professionalism at all times.
Respect towards students, colleagues, and parents is essential.
Lesson plans and teaching materials must align with the CBSE curriculum.
Timely grading and feedback on student assignments are required.
Teachers should provide a conducive learning environment in the classroom.
Continuous professional development is encouraged to enhance teaching skills.

- Regular attendance at parent-teacher meetings and school events is encouraged.
- Prompt communication with the school regarding any concerns or issues is expected.
- Payment of school fees should be made on time.
- Parents are responsible for ensuring their child's punctuality and completion of homework assignments.
- Parents should actively participate in their child's academic and extracurricular activities.
- School fees must be paid in full and on time as per the schedule provided by the school administration.
- Payment methods include online transfers, bank drafts, or cash payments at the school office.
- Late fee charges will be applicable for overdue payments.
- Admission to Shankara Modern School is based on merit and availability of seats.
- Admission forms must be filled out completely and submitted with all required documents.
- Admission decisions are final and at the discretion of the school administration.
- Priority may be given to siblings of current students or alumni.
- Parents or guardians must provide a written request for student withdrawal from the school.
- Clearance of all dues, including outstanding fees and return of school property, is mandatory before withdrawal.
- Transfer certificates will be issued upon completion of the withdrawal process.
